Book Chat Book- A Banner Bold

This Is The Book, ‘My Australian Story, A Banner Bold’

Hello! Welcome back to my blog (Tabitha’s blog) today I am going to do a response for my Book Chat book (A Banner Bold- by Nadia Wheatley. I am going to be asked questions and I am going to answer them.

1) What Is The Story About? When And Where Is It Set?

This book Is set in the Gold Rush and started at 15th April 1854 (in the story). It is about a girl named Rosa Aarons, who as well as her family, wants to find gold. They travel from London to the Ballarat Goldfields. She meets a lot of new friends and sees things that she didn’t in London. Soon she is caught up in the Eureka Stockade. This book is a really great book and I love the story in general.

2) How Were People Treated On The Goldfields?

People weren’t treated well. If you didn’t have a gold digging licence you would be sent to prison, chained to a tree and a lot more. The police weren’t friendly either, they were the ones doing those terrible things. The gold digging license was also really expensive, so not many people had enough money to buy one, and it had to be renewed every month, per person.

3) What Jobs Did They Have On The Goldfields? Which One Would You Do?

They had a seamstress, bakers, butchers, candle makers, teachers, and some more. I would definitely pick to be a seamstress, which is a person that knows how to sew. I would pick to be a seamstress because I know how to sew already and think it is a lot of fun. What would you pick?

4) What Was The Journey Like To The Goldfields? What Did They Come On?

The journey was really bad, it was really rocky and stormy. And in this case, Rosa’s family journey wasn’t good but wasn’t bad. They took a ship to the Goldfields. And it took them around six months to get to Australia for the Gold Rush.

The Importance Of Comments

Hello! And welcome back to my blog (Tabitha’s Blog). Today I am going to be sharing to you the importance of Quality Comments. Comments are a way to interact with others online, form relationships and lots more.

Quality Comments are comments that are meaningful. So not just writing a comment to say ‘Hi’, a comment to give feedback, to learn from each other e.c.t.

Today, I have created a poster to explain better what Quality Comments are. And I hope you enjoy!

My Blog Avatar

Hello and Welcome back to my Blog (Tabitha’s Blog). I am going to tell you about my blog avatar and why I had chosen it.

I had chosen this avatar because it represents me online. I have the almost white hair, the dark blue eyes and lots of other things. I think that this avatar really does represent me as a person online. In the image I have a friendly look on my face which is representing me for being friendly, there is my smile representing me being a happy person and I will leave the rest for you to find out. It is also a great way to hide your face because your not normally supposed to show everyone your face so an avatar is a fantastic way to stay safe online.

My Library Reflection (Term 1)

What Genre Of Books Do You Enjoy Reading The Most?

My favourite genre would definitely be ‘fantasy’. Because it lets your imagination run wild. It also lets you think you are in the book, with all of the description it makes you think about the novel and what it may look like in your mind.

What Is A Suggested Book Within The Genre?

Of course Harry Potter. It is a classic! It has out of the box ideas. An amazing book because it has mystery, family and friendship, fantasy (of course!) and even some comedy! This book is one of the best books I have ever read! In my opinion.

Which Book Chat Book Are You Reading?

At the moment I am reading ‘How To Bee’. It is based in the future at a farm where there are no bees and there are two jobs that you have to do. There is pests, which have to do get rid of all the grubs and pests that try and get the fruit and vegetables. And there are bees that have to pollinate the fruit and vegetables because there are no bees to pollinate it themselves. And Peony is a pest but dreams of becoming a bee but has to face some obstacles first to achieve her dream of becoming a bee.
